Vintage early 1900’s wardrobe steamer trunk

This is a black leather wardrobe with brass hasps clasps and corner protectors. Previous owner was a antique collector. A 90 year old lady a retired teacher who is the original owner. Her name is margaret Jurrell. Not sure of the last name spelling but its close in spelling. Jurrell and her sister used this trunk travelling to the east coast to college. The stickers are still on the outside, see attaches photos. Jurrell lives in central WI. Colleges attended are on the stickers on the trunk. Their is minor damage to the outside, to the locking mechanism shown in picture and to some leather at the exterior also shown in pics. Let the photos be the best descriptor of this item. Seed pearls range 1-2mm with largest set pearl accents at 3-4mm, white to creamy white, a little reflective coloration in our photos. Simple restoration needed, complete 4-piece parure still in leather case, crown monogram. Necklace with 14-16k clasp, large cartouche and 6 additional seed pearl ornaments to pull together with a little silk thread and time. All original in fine condition for age and type, (no damage to any of the mother of pearl matrix upon which elaborate pearl arrangements are built up) but needs light restoration work as shown. Comes with 500 matched seed pearls 14k gold loops and earring apparatus, and strong period silk thread on spool for final restoration. Brooch set on 14-16k matrix, excellent wearable condition. Pair of earrings with 14k ear wires provided for restoration. Box, leather clad with silk velvet and silk satin interior is in excellent condition but clasp will not hold closed – very slight adjustment perhaps. Fitted for this set, light restoration only. RARE as can be, a fine late Georgian to early Victorian seed pearl jewelry set still intact and in original presentation case, with crown monogram embossed inside lid and notation of Edinburgh distributor/jewelry shop (maker to the Queen/King). I’ve had this set for 15 years or more. Always thought I might do this little bit of restoration work myself and have all the necessary pieces, but alas, I’ve grown old and my eyesight really isn’t good enough to do this work anymore. Early Roullet & Decamps automaton c. 1880 from Maison Simonne Jumeau or Bru head

Automaton referred in the Roullet-Decamps catalog with the number 25 :’danseuse’ (the dancer). It is an early model of the firm, period Jean Roullet, circa 1880. This automaton has the label of the famous shop’Maison Simonne’. This automaton works well : the right arm is moving and the head go from side to side. As indicated in the R & D catalog. Total height is 48 cm, as indicated in the R & D catalog. (a little less than 19). Very interesting bisque head – portrait like face – maybe Jumeau or Bru You can see on the pictures a classic original R & D key and the typical R & D on/off system. Only a very very small part of the original clothes is present (used socks, a part of the vest), these rich clothes were made many years ago. The wig is not original too like the velvet. Note that the pressed bisque head (unmarked) is free of hairline or restoration, the bisque arms are perfect too. =====> ask me for the video. Very beautiful with a display of fashion dolls. 8 1/2Antique Early Kestner Doll Jointed Closed Mouth Composition Body. This doll is unmarked lending to believe she is a very early example. She measures approximately 8 1/2 standing. I will give you the limited history I was told when I acquired her. She was acquired from a woman in Nashville, TN who is in her 70’s. She was moving out of state and this doll was her grandmother’s doll. She stated the dolls clothes and shoes are original and the only alteration she made for the doll was the crown she made for her hair out of gold knit material. Her composition joints are tight and looking closely at the doll, it appears at some time in her life, she was restrung nicely. She is wearing her original honey blonde human hair wig. Looking inside her head she has old paper inside to keep her brown glass sleep eyes open and prevent her weight from damaging her beautiful bisque head. Her bisque head is in excellent condition. No cracks or chips. Face paint is Kestner perfection. Her jointed body shows some joint wear and the left upper leg is missing a piece of composition where the ball of the hip would be. She is wearing a white matching flower design lace trim dress set that consists of the dress, slip, and bloomers. The dress has intricate detail and scalloped edges. No stains on the dress. It does have a little tear at the waist area (see photos) and a few little holes in the back. She is wearing dainty delicate leather shoes that are incised 3 or 8/0 on the bottom of each shoe. She is also wearing a lovely beaded necklace. I have kept her displayed under a glass dome. She is the perfect cabinet size doll and a fantastic addition to your doll collection. However, I will describe each item as best and as honestly as possible, as well as provide photos for your review. Exquisite 20 Early Jumeau Portrait Fashion Poupee, circa 1875. Dressed in a beautiful two-piece outfit of dark blue and white cotton with ivory silk ribbon gathered trim salvaged from an antique Victorian lady’s dress. The skirt front and back are accented with large dark blue ribbon bows. The jacket and skirt are both lined with black cotton. The jacket closes with tiny hooks down the front under the ruffle. The dress was made by Carol H. The outfit includes antique underwear and white leather shoes. She is wearing a floral decorated hat and her blonde human hair wig is in the style of the period and compliments her creamy bisque and pale blue glass eyes. The bisque has no hairlines, cracks or other damage. It is in excellent condition. Her cloth body and legs are in fair condition, with some patches. Her kidskin arms have split open at the creases and need to be taped. (see photos) I have wrapped them in cellophane to secure them. Outstanding Fine Irish Crochet Wedding or Ball Gown with Train, Early 1900’s

Its not often that words fail me, but this glorious piece is even more beautiful than the pictures, and my words pale beside the gown itself. It is the FINEST! I simply cannot imagine the hours/days/months that someone spent making this Edwardian Irish Crochet Wedding Gown. It’s possible it took a number of women quite some time to hand-crochet this dress. To find an entire dress of Irish Crochet is one thing, but this one has the most densely connected elements that Ive seen: they cover the entire dress. You often find them with a great deal of openwork and connecting threads between occasional flowers, shamrocks, etc. The weight of this gown – 2 lbs. 12 ounces – speaks of how much thread was used to create this! This gown has only one seam up the back the bell sleeves are separate. I have tried to photograph it in different lights; and with/without a slip. If you like flowers, this gown is a celebration unto itself. There are filled flowers, solid flowers, lacy flowers, 3-dimensional flowers, shamrocks, pinwheels, buds and tendrils. The vines look like button-hole stitches, and they are doubled to make this dress remarkably strong. Around the neck, at the sleeves and at the hem is a delicate scalloped crochet edging to finish it. There is a bit of stretch to the garment because of the open-ness of the lace, but it would be best to fit a bit loosely so that the crochet lace is not stressed. The wonderful thing about this dress is that it has a deep opening in the back [27] and it fastens with 18 hooks-and-eyes. These are not all evenly spaced, but they do a good job keeping the dress together. The gown has a gently rounded neckline with elbow-length bell sleeves. It is very fitted through the bust and waist without a defined waistline, flaring out at the hips to a full skirt that is slightly longer in the back to form a small train. The gown is photographed with and without a slip. You will need a slip or underdress with this. The color is a pale cream color. This kind of dress comes along very rarely, and I guarantee you will not see another quite like this it is definitely museum-worthy. I have not attempted to soak or clean this in any way. It comes from the estate of a discriminating collector who was active in a number of vintage and car clubs. PLEASE ask for more photos if you are seriously interested in this gown, because I have many and I couldnt show all the details. I estimate this would best fit a modern size Small to Medium, but please go by measurements below. Although there is some stretch to the crochet lace, you must be smaller than the measurements below to insure proper fit. NOTE: Measurements are taken lying flat from the outside, so please double where applicable. Bust: 19, stretches to 20 ½. Waist: 14, stretches to 15 ½. Hips: 21 to 22. Shoulders Across Back: 13. Sleeve length from shoulder to end: 12. Sleeve length underarm to end: 5 ½. Total length in front from top of shoulder: 60. Total length from center back: 66. Weight is 2 lbs, 12 oz. Condition is EXCELLENT with the following issues noted. There are some breaks in the connectors, but not many. There are two at the right side of the back hip that are smaller than a quarter [photo #12 shows two at the top the right photo is a close-up of the larger hole pictured at top left]. There is a small hole at the back right shoulder, and several incidental breaks here and there. There are some minor age discoloration at the neck and the back opening [where it hooks and was handled]. A couple of gray discolored areas near the hem and at the center left sleeve. There are a handful of medium-brown spots here and there. Please message me for more photos, because I have many more pictures and would love to share details of the glory as well as the small issues of this wonderful gown.
