ANTIQUE EARLY WOODEN Doll FEMALE FIGURE with Glass Eyes
A beautiful early doll or statue of a woman from the late 19th century made of wood with original paint. She has rosy pink cheeks and peach color skin, brown for her head top. A great teal blue color dress drapes her chest, waist and leg tops. She has a place where posts would have held her arms, though she has no arms nor legs now. Her paint is chippy in a few places on her forehead, her nose has no paint just the wood shows which may have been replaced. She is missing a portion of her ear. In all, I think she looks much better in person than my photos depict and is really beautiful for her age. I think she would look lovely dressed in antique clothing. Some of the gesso shows under the paint at the edge of her leg and the whitish chippy marks on her face is gesso. She is not “touched up” that I can tell. Her eyes are milk glass with black pupils, her left eye is imbedded further with a slight variation to it, possibly an old repair or just oddly settled inside. Someone made a newer base for her to display in their collection. Her colors are much deeper in person, I have an abundance of sunlight which tends to lighten or glare on my photos. An unusual Early Wooden Female Figure with original paint similar to the Early crèche figures, Santos or Cage Doll sculpted statues, possible made in Spain or Portugal. She measures 9″ tall with additional 1.5″ height of base. Have a look at my other Auctions and my ME page to view my Teddy Bear Collection from AFewGoodBears. As Always, Thank You For Looking.

Antique French Ormolu Clock Empire Bronze Silk Suspension Early 19th Century
A fine and rare clock dating to circa 1827. A very fine and rare example of a French Empire fire gilded ormolu / mercury clock depicting a young lady draped in a flowing dress featuring fine detail. The lady is seated and is at her desk reading a book next to a Neo Grec oil lamp. The desk is covered with a cloth, is decorated with tassels and houses the clock drum. The figure of the lady has been finely chiselled; she has very realistic features; pay particular attention to the face, hands and finger nails and hair. The clock demonstrates the finest quality of craftsmanship. To the front elevation, the clock features an ebonised dial with Roman numerals. This fine clock stands upon a rectangular base. The front elevation of the base features repoussé work with shells, scroll work, pears, apples and grapes. The original mechanism is present without modification featuring a suspension silk thread. The clock features a twin train mechanical movement striking the hours and half on a bell. The clock is regulated by a count wheel. The mechanism is stamped H. Onoré Pons 1827 and was created by the important Parisian clock maker. The original bell, pendulum and winding key are present. 43 cm high x 36.5 cm wide. Condition: Overall, the clock is in good working condition. The ormolu is in good condition and retains a very good colour. Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get’stuck’. There is no guarantee that the clock will work smoothly after it has been transported. Please study the pictures and ask any questions that you may have.
