Antique Decorative Hanging Wall Glass Mirror Wooden Frame
This piece is in very good condition for its age. As you can see from the back the previous owner hot glued the mirror in place but that’s easily removable if you wanted to take it apart.
ANTIQUE EARLY WOODEN Doll FEMALE FIGURE with Glass Eyes
A beautiful early doll or statue of a woman from the late 19th century made of wood with original paint. She has rosy pink cheeks and peach color skin, brown for her head top. A great teal blue color dress drapes her chest, waist and leg tops. She has a place where posts would have held her arms, though she has no arms nor legs now. Her paint is chippy in a few places on her forehead, her nose has no paint just the wood shows which may have been replaced. She is missing a portion of her ear. In all, I think she looks much better in person than my photos depict and is really beautiful for her age. I think she would look lovely dressed in antique clothing. Some of the gesso shows under the paint at the edge of her leg and the whitish chippy marks on her face is gesso. She is not “touched up” that I can tell. Her eyes are milk glass with black pupils, her left eye is imbedded further with a slight variation to it, possibly an old repair or just oddly settled inside. Someone made a newer base for her to display in their collection. Her colors are much deeper in person, I have an abundance of sunlight which tends to lighten or glare on my photos. An unusual Early Wooden Female Figure with original paint similar to the Early crèche figures, Santos or Cage Doll sculpted statues, possible made in Spain or Portugal. The item is made with a wooden frame with two portions of decorative inlay. The item is not marked by a maker (see photos). The item looks to be English (or possibly American) in origin (see photos). The item is a part of an estate liquidation (see photos). The item measures in total about 26.5 inches high and it is about 15.5 inches wide. The interior mirrored opening portion measures about 17.75 inches high and it is about 10.75 inches wide. The wood frame has cracks in the wood, some breaks and repairs and signs of wear (see photos). The mirror glass has scuffs, obvious losses to the silvering on the mirror’s back and other wear (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item).
