2940 Rolex Oyster Perpetual! For sale is an authentic vintage 1940’s Rolex stainless steel ref. 2940 Oyster Perpetual out of an estate! The watch is in a 32 mm case with 17 mm inlets for the bracelet/straps. There are scratches on the case and case back, crystal is pristine. The crown screws down nicely into the case. The dial appears to be refinished, and there are some areas of pitting on the case – see photos for condition. The serial number of the watch is 527735. The model number is 2940 (engraved inside the case back). The serial number is clearly readable between the lugs. The watch is running, and smooth to wind and set. We do not know the service history, and as with all vintage timepieces, service will be needed for the watch to keep time. We do not guarantee the time keeping accuracy of this watch. The strap (band) is a non Rolex branded genuine leather brand new strap. The dial appears to have never been refinished and is just beautiful. It has very light and even patina with no age spotting. Authentic Rolex steel and gold ladies Oyster Perpetual ref. 6619 with gold fluted bezel! The watch is in a stainless steel 24 mm case and fits 13 mm straps. The original dial is marked: Rolex Oyster Perpetual -T Swiss T. The serial number of the watch is 1894XXX. The model number is 6619. Came out of the factory in late 1968. The crystal is acrylic/plastic. The dial is in original condition, but the lume on the hands and hour indexes has blackened with age. The model and serial numbers are clearly readable between the lugs. The original Rolex automatic wind movement is the 26 jewel cal. The watches case has minor scratches from age / use. The Original & limited Silver Brick Watch Dial has been left untouched with all Lume Dots/Markers still intact and sphere-like, still originally positioned on top of the Gold Baton Markers. It is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 14k yellow gold and stainless steel ladies watch with a silver dial, a fluted yellow gold bezel ring, and a genuine Rolex Jubilee link bracelet. It has been appreciating in value for decades and will only continue. Model number 6517 serial 2088xxx c. This watch will come with our sales receipt with model number, serial number, and authenticity noted. It will also come our Certificate of Authenticity (COA). At the time of the detailing the Perpetual winding Rolex signed cal 1161 movement with sweeping seconds hand and date calendar was inspected, it is running perfectly. The case and crystal were lightly polished to a scratch free shine and the link and lug tops satin refinished. The case measures 26 mm wide excluding the crown (it’s an average sized vintage lades watch). The winding crown is the original twin lock screw down crown with the Rolex logo. The crown screws down nice and tight. The coin edges on the case back show no slipped tool marks. The bracelet is a genunine Rolex Jubilee link 14k and stainless steel “oval link” model. It will fit up to a 7.125 inch wrist without adding links. The bracelet is the original showing average “stretch” between the links for its age. It is still secure and will give several years of service still. The dial has never been refinished and is very nice for its age. The pictures have been taken from every angle and represent the watch well, in fact they are 3x magnified, the dial is beautiful, and the watch is polished to a perfect shine. Any imperfections you see in the shine are just reflections the camera caught.
