Vintage Mid Century Modern Thonet Bentwood Tall Back Lounge Chair Turquoise Aqua
Vintage lounge chair by Thonet, c1950’s. Uncommon design features a tall angled back seat, bentwood arms and legs in birch, and nail-head trim to back edges. In original pastel aqua textured vinyl. The frame shows wear due to age and use but is structurally solid and sturdy. Noted one small chip to corner of back leg and very tiny slit in the vinyl toward top of back rest, neither is terribly noticeable or distracting. Original tag from Grosse Pointe hospital remains on back leg, removable if desired. Foam under seat has been replaced with new. Vintage Heddon Ice Decoy Minnow Antique Fishing Lure Green Crackle Back 1923-27
This version of the Heddon Ice Decoy Antique Lure is distinguished by its 4 point fin shape. Not all antique lures are technically lures, but they are all attractants of some type. This wooden 4 point Heddon Decoy was given a series model 400. This Ice fishing decoy would be around circa 1923. The lure or decoy measures 4 3/8? The lure has two sections of 90 degree pointed fins attached to its body. The decoy lure also employs the use of a metal tail fin that is braced into the rear tail section. The Heddon Decoy used the inch worm style of line tie on top so that you could attach at different points to affect the hang or the angle of suspension. The Heddon Ice decoy can be found in a host of standard cataloged colors to some that are definable or considered special order. The decoy uses multiple belly weights to help sink and maintain its centered buoyance. This would be the final wooden version or body and wing style of the Heddon Decoy before it tried its hand at making a plastic or Ice Spook. The Spook version would make the same impact on the fishing industry and or history. Many of the spook decoys found today have the typical shrinkage and plastic decomposition we see in the first version of Heddon Spooks. The Heddon Ice Decoy Antique Lure below in the gallery is in a beautiful green crackle back color code 00 so its correct box should you have one laying around would be marked 400. Heddon Lures; Fitting everything known about Heddon Lures the maker & its heritage into a single web page is a daunting task. Its like trying to wrap your arms around a Sequoia tree. This antique fishing lure and reel maker transcended over a centurys worth of time. As far as the American Fishing Lure history story, it would be hard to tell without including Heddon. From the folksy story of James Heddon creating his first frog antique lure next to old mill pond to todays giant conglomerate EBSCO Pradco one cannot traverse American fishing history without them. As the years moved forward so did Heddon lures in their innovations. Through the field testing of lures in the Bass filled lakes of Florida to the frozen ponds of Michigan, the Heddon Company lead through innovations. The lure giant bought, fought and marketed their way to success. Famous lures such as the Heddon Dowagiac Expert, and its early brethren the Underwater Minnow would morph into some of the most successful lures for both fishermen and present day collectors. The lures themselves adapted through the decades bringing with them a giant patronage (whichever account you read from) of the American fishing Industry. Anyone who reads and studies the works or craftsmanship of early American Fishing industry, will no doubt conclude and see the sometimes subtle and not so subtle similarities in the competitors. Striking an unarguable link between the giants or Big 5, Creek Chub, Shakespeare, South Bend, Jamison, Pflueger and many others in paint, performance, and technology. ORIGINAL LEVIS #1 BUCKLE BACK DENIM JACKET from the 1940’s. This is a Type 1 506xx Levi’s Jacket with One Pocket and a Belt on back (Buckle Back). It has a one-sided LEVIS “big E” tag on the pocket which makes this jacket pre-war. This jacket is used but still in great condition for its age. Good character and coloring (blue indigo denim). Offered for your consideration this Amazing Superb 1930’s Bias Cut Silk Evening Gown with Poppy Print Pattern and Net Back and Sleeves. Dresses like these don’t often come along. I would consider RARE. Dress features Side Snap closure. Not only is the front of this dress Amazing but the no detail was left to chance on the backside. Featuring a sheer Net Back with 3 Gathered Tiers just below the Rear, for a very dramatic walk away. This dress needs to be worn on the red carpet. Condition is Excellent considering the age. I have not attempted to clean or mend this garment in any way. Leaving that up to the new owner. Garment is AS Found. No Odors, No Major Damage, No Stains that I can find. Guaranteed to pass the fabric pull test, (no rot). Being highly critical here are the following mentions: Needs a little stitch at the bust, There are 3 Small holes photographed with finger pointing, Easily repaired and hard to see in photos. Net has no holes but there are a few areas showing some stress. All these mentions are being highly critical.
