She was a teacher and principal in the Chelmsford, Woburn and Lowell School Systems. She worked throughout her life at her family’s store. McEnaney’s Market in North Chelmsford Ma.. Overall size of painting, including frame is approximately 19.5 inches by 24 inches on mounted canvas. The painting is 15 inches by 19 inches on Grumbacher canvas. Condition is good and clean, with a few minor faint scuffs, NO crazing, NO repairs. Back of canvas shows some minor stains, some are from dark paints used. If you hold this up to the light, there are a few very very tiny itzy bitzy pin dot holes, which are insignificant. The frame (frame is in fair condition with significant wear and distressing but can be repaired by a professional craftsman specializing in antique wood framing restoration) is heavy wood, antique, and distressed, with some missing round circle ornamental designs. The frame has some fogging, from varnish loss. Frame is hand made and dates to late 19th century to early 20th century. This painting is heavy. The painting was put in the frame with nails, but the nails do NOT go into the painting, but rather bend from the frame, to hold the painting in.
