Chinese Celadon Jade with Russet Inclusions. Beautiful pale celadon jade table object with russet inclusions. The piece has been reviewed by an expert, and passed a steel knife scratch test. Given its luster, the jade is likely jadeite. The workmanship is broadly consistent with other examples of 20th century jades. Please review photographs for detailed condition. 8.5 by 2.25 by 1.25 inches. The jade weighs 11.9 ounces. You will see areas of roughness in the carving during examination, which is useful in dating this to either the Republican or PROC periods. For color comparisons, the jade has been photographed next to a pair of old Korean celadon ceramics. Please see other listings for similar items.
