This listing is for a vintage Wittnauer chronograph from the 1930’s -1940’s. Used by military personal especially pilots for configuration purposes on the dial. The dial has three colors: blue, black and red on metallic silver dial. The dial is a snail’s dial which is very collectible and sought after. The watch is left in it’s original vintage well preserved condition. For sake of historical integrity. Therefore the watch shows signs of normal vintage wear and aging on case and crystal with even aging on dial. The watch is not military assigned, but pilots especially considered using this chronograph over others due to the dial specifications for their crucial calculations. Watch is currently running but service is recommended. Chronograph engages second hand moves for a couple of seconds and then stops. Crown screws in and out properly. Watch winds, time and date set as they should. Bi directional Bakelite Bezel rotates with clicking motion. Bezel is in excellent shape without any cracks, shows some discoloration. Crystal is in excellent shape and is clear. Dial and hands are close to perfect condition. Chapter ring shows some wear as it’s common with these models.
