Removable sash, can be worn various ways. High slit in front of skirt. Excellent vintage condition, beautiful and highly wearable. A few teeny marks. Armpits will need some reinforcement. Pair of 1960’s Original Vintage George Nakashima Studio Walnut Settee Loveseat
Pair of 1960’s Original Vintage George Nakashima Studio Walnut Settee Loveseat. Listed for sale is a fabulous pair of settees, crafted by George Nakashima circa 1966. These pieces are iconic examples of the slatted lounge series, which followed a design language through the forms of both long settees and more slender lounge chairs. These particular examples are 48 inch settees constructed from solid walnut. The finish on both pieces has a lovely patina and is in beautiful shape. The upholstery is quite fresh as well and appears to have been recently done (I would guess by the upholstery shop that works with the Nakashima Studio based on the quality and details). Its foam is comfortable and fabric has great feel. The price listed is for one settee. Two settees are available. A third (from a separate original owner) is also available if it interests you. RARE BRITISH 1950S FILM LAMP FULLY RESTORED. AND REPURPOSED INTO A FLOOR LIGHT. Originally designed in Covent Garden, London at the Strand headquarters in the 1950s. The light has been superbly engineered, and features a die cast ventilated body, 360 degree rotation, Iconic circular design and an internal reflector. The spot light has been professionally polished to a bright mirror finish by a specialist British company. The finish is to an extremely high standard. We take pride in the finished result as the light represents a unique and rare piece of design history. The Light gives a wide beam spread for feature / architectural lighting and showing specific objects such as a work of art. The Light is presented on a handmade classic wooden tripod. The tripod features height adjustable legs with rich detailed fittings. The height range is adjustable from 75cm to 170cm and is ideal for all floor types. The light has been professionally re-wired with 3 core silk braded lighting flex and fitted with a high quality CE approved inline foot dimmer switch. The dimmer switch allows for the light to be turned on or off with the press of a button, or to change the brightness from a warm glow to bright spot light with the sliding control. We were very lucky to acquire this light direct from Paramount studios in Hollywood. The Light has been used for many years in the booming film industry. The Movie production company has commented that this light was used on the Film set of “War of The Worlds” based on the H. Paramount had scores of the best talent in Hollywood with stars such as: Marlene Dietrich, Mae West, Gary Cooper, Claudette Colbert, The Marx Brothers, Dorothy Lamour, Carole Lombard and Bing Crosby. The light has been superbly engineered, and features a ventilated body, focusing arm, 360 degree rotation, ribbed focus lens and an internal reflector.
