A FANTASTIC QUALITY BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD WRITING SLOPE FROM THE FIRST HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY. IT HAS FOLD AWAY BRASS HANDLES ON THE SIDES AND A BRASS ENGRAVED CARTOUCHE AND SIMILAR ESCUTCHEON. INTERNALLY IT HAS A PARTIALORIGINAL RETAILERS STICKER UNDER ONE OF THE PANELS, THE ORIGINAL MOROCCAN TOOLED LEATHER SLOPES AND TWO HIDDEN DRAWERS. IT HAS ONE PATCH OF REPAIRED VENEER TO THE LID AND I HAVE REMADE PART OF THE RELEASE MECHANISM FOR THE HIDDEN DRAWERS (BUT IT WORKS FINE). ORIGINAL LOCK AND A MATCHED WORKING KEY. PLEASE NOTE; THE KEYS ARE HANDMADE AND SPECIFIC TO THE LOCK SO REPLACEMENTS ARE HARD TO FIND, ALSO THE LOCKS ARE VERY OLD AND CAN FAIL SO I’D ADVISE JUST USING THE KEYS AS DECORATION AND LOCKING THE BOX AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE. IT HAS BEEN GIVEN A VERY LIGHT CLEAN AND A BEESWAX POLISH. UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO EXCESS PAPERWORK AND CONDITIONS I NO LONGER SELL TO COUNTRIES IN THE EUROPEAN UNION. This gorgeous Mid Century Modern Walnut & Rosewood credenza/buffet/sideboard #386 by Stanley Furniture Company will make a great piece in your dining room, living room, hallway or even bedroom. It’s so versatile and beautiful and with the aged patina, what a beauty! Manufactured in 1962, this exceptional mid century modern credenza/buffet/sideboard by Stanley Distinctive Furniture features walnut with hourglass diamond shaped rosewood inlays. Unique brushed nickel pulls with black and nickel washers adorn the drawers. The feet of the legs are banded with nickel accenting the pulls. Both of these features lend a decidedly contemporary edge. This piece has two center drawers, and a cabinet on either side one with a fixed interior shelf- providing ample space for media components or dining necessities. Measuring 54W X 18D X 29.5H, this dazzling vintage credenza/buffet/sideboard can easily function as a low dresser. Rare Early Rosewood Rocking Chair by Sam Maloof. Rarely constructed in rosewood and upholstered in black leather, this rocking chair was made around 1963. It is an early model that pioneered his later iconic rocking chairs that are sought after by collectors worldwide. This chair is from the collection of John Maloof, the grandson of Sam Maloof. According to John, this chair was originally made for John F. Kennedy, but after the president’s untimely passing, Sam gave it to his daughter, Marilouise, who then passed it down to John. Offered is a beautiful and classic Charles and Ray Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman models no. 670 and 671 in Brazilian rosewood and thick black leather for Herman Miller, circa mid-1970s. However, there are various scratches apparent on the ottoman, presumably from a cat, although none of them are deep. The seat of the chair, backrest, and arms show signs of normal use consistent with their age. Retains the maker’s label to the underside of the seat, and all of the original’Domes of Silence’ glides. Overall a gorgeous example of an iconic heirloom-level piece of furniture, suitable for any room in the home and any style of decoration. Listed for sale is a rare and beautiful Florence Knoll rosewood and marble credenza/sideboard/file cabinet. With regard to condition, the piece is excellent cosmetically. Door fronts are in terrific shape with only light wear noted. Sides are excellent also. The back is finished and rosewood also. Cabinet measures 37.5 inch W 18 inch D 25.5 inch H. Wood: Edges are crisp and grain is lovely. The inner parts of the cabinet are oak. The oak is still strong and stable, with joinery holding up beautifully. The inner frame of the cabinet is also in excellent condition. Metal: The base of this cabinet is chromed steel. The base is shows some wear, but is in nice shape overall. Original hardware is still present. Marble: The marble is in excellent condition for its age. It has been beautifully re-polished as well.
