Dating from the 1950’s, it measures 19″ tall on its 4 5/8″ x 5 3/8″ x 5 3/8″ black marble base and is signed by the artist on the back as shown. Guido Rebechini was part of a multi=generational dynasty of classically trained sculptors who worked (and continue to work) in the Chicago area from the early 1900’s to present days. Guido created life-sized nativity figures for the city of nashville, TN back in the 50’s and produced original sculptures as models for mass production… His Uncle Same flag-holder was especially popular. This represents some of the artist’s best quality work and bears no foundry marks… But looks like the work of the Roman Bronze works or equal quality.
