This lovely Bookcase weighs approximately 145 pounds and measures 76 ¾ in height (from the floor to the gallery top), 49 ½ in width, and 19 ¼ in depth. The dimensions of each of the four adjustable, removable shelves are 9 ½ in depth by 46 ¼ in width. This fabulous Victorian Bookcase has its original finish which shows some expected wear, original hardware, and original wavy glass doors. Details that are simple, elegant and lovely are found on this wonderful Walnut Victorian Two Door Step-back Bookcase. Moreover, regarding provenance, we were informed that this piece appeared on the set of the Sleepy Hollow TV series. The fancy Geometric incised carved Gallery is adorned with a central raised horizontal burl panel and accented with carved rosettes on the shoulders. Fluted edges complete the top and elegant scalloped and vertical incised carved burl moulding is found beneath the top just above the lovely original glass doors. The lovely original glass doors are encased in picture frame moulding. The right door has an intact lock and a working key is included. There are four original fluted front shelves behind the doors that are completely adjustable and hence can be configured to meet your display needs. Each of these shelves measures 9 ½ deep by 46 ¾ long. The elegance continues on the front sides of the bookcase body which are graced with handsome fluted moulding with incised carved sconces on top. Additional storage opportunity is found in the two handsome dovetailed drawers with burl accents, intact locks, and original fancy heavy brass hardware. Fluted sconces adorn the sides of these handsome drawers and a lovely geometric apron beneath these drawers completes this fabulous bookcase.
