EARLY 19TH CENTURY FEDERAL PERIOD CLASSICAL BOSTON MAHOGANY VOSE ANTIQUE GAME TABLE. Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer you this wonderful early 19th century late Federal period Classical movement solid mahogany game table attributed to the Boston workshop of Issac Vose. These are very special pieces using all the choicest exotic mahogany woods. It is defined by dramatic down swept legs and a huge bulbous reed carved pedestal with a swivel top that allows it to fold open. It has very nice brass lion paw cast feet on caster wheels and measures 36″ long, 18″ wide (36″ in games position) and stands 29″ tall. We note professional restorations to two legs which is a common trait with these well within acceptable limits. It has a fantastic graining in the select mahogany employed in its crafting. I restore fine antiques, when I laid eyes on this table it was love at first site, I search high and low for outstanding pieces, especially hard to find is tiger maple of this caliber.
