Beautiful, Attributed to R J Horner, Oak Cylinder Roll Top, Knee Hole, Banker’s Desk featuring the famous Horner Motif of the North Wind Faces. Features include; three functional storage drawers above the decorative cylinder roll featuring the North Wind Face drawer pulls accompanied by the most appropriate wind scrolls. The cylinder roll is completely decorated with finely carved scrolls around a center accent egg. The raised cylinder reveals a detailed desk interior with the original tooled leather writing service and 4 small drawers and eleven open cubbies. Below the writing service you can find three more North Wind Face drawers. All supported by functional pedestals and bun feet. Behind the decorative door on the left you will find a one shelf compartment and behind the right decorative door are three more “hidden” drawers. Condition: Overall, very fine original finish. The original tooled writing surface shows sings of ware, but has the quality that can’t be duplicated today. The cylinder lock has been removed.
