Antique Victorian to Edwardian women’s Irish lace off white 3/4 sleeve blouse or top. The blouse has a high neck with fabric covered boning to keep it upright. The front of the blouse is sewn together down the front with a large oval floral embroidered insert framed with other types of lace. The bottom has an unfinished edge looks like it may have been cut from a dress or shortened at some point. It is entirely lined with a tissue paper thin matching silk fabric but although it is mostly intact there are a few holes and tears in this. It has been doubled up or repaired in some areas especially under the arms. The lining continues through the sleeves which stops at the cuffs which are a different pattern of lace. The bottom edge of the lining is handsewn to a cotton band. Has been thoroughly cleaned by soaking it overnight in a specialized wash to remove dirt, yellowing, odors and stains. Has some condition issues and is quite delicate. There are some breaks in the lace and several repairs made around the collar area. Waist: 24 (bottom of the inside silk lining). Arm Hole: 8 wide.
