This ultra-rare, brutalist chest features a prism spiked facade with an absolutely incredible finish. It was produced in Canada in the late-60s or early-70s and has four dove-tailed drawers that fit into low profile design. This piece would work well as an accent piece in a hall or living room or could serve as a TV stand. We carry a lot of vintage, brutalist-style pieces at our store, and this line is probably our favorite both for its extreme rarity and totally unique look. The original finish on this piece is what makes it truly amazing. The team in our workshop has gone to great lengths to preserve and restore it. Decades of tarnish have been removed and any nicks to the colored finish have been artistically restored. Spikes cover the sides and drawer faces. They are covered with an unusual, mottled finish in shades of copper. The top and base look black at first, but as you approach the piece, you begin to see that they are really a deep, haunting green with a randomly mottled, liquid-like appearance. The layering of colors and finishing technics that were used on the top make it feel like you are gazing into a dark pool deep in the forest. The effect is very dramatic and unlike anything that we have ever seen. 23″ height x 53″ width x 21 depth. The drawer pulls, which had broken years ago, have been replaced with steel pulls that we custom made. Please take a look at all of the photos to get an idea of how beautiful this piece is.
