Vintage 40’s Universal Geneve 18k Pink Gold CHRONOGRAPH Uni-Compax The movement has been running and keeps excellent time. The watch has its original Salmon Dial that does show a little wear around the edges but not bad overall. The pink 18k solid gold case is stamped on the side and case back. The case has probably been cleaned up before but the case has started to tone over again. The lugs do still have their original male stubs for the female style pins. Crystal has superficial scratches but nothing distracting or even that noticeable. The leather strap is a little shorter than most. 7 inch wrist and I can just barely fasten it. Watch measures approximately 35mm without the crown and 42mm top to bottom lug tip. This is a very nice Time-piece! Beautiful 1970’s Universal Geneve White Shadow in very well preserved condition. Runs on a Swiss made micro-rotor automatic movement in cal. The watch is in a very nice cosmetic condition and fully functional. Comes in the original Universal Geneve white box (has two small tears on the back from age and usage). The original belt was too old and worn, so it was thrown away, but i have kept the original buckle, and it’ll be included with the watch. Like on most vintage mechanical watches, i cannot guarantee an accurate timekeeping, regulating it may be needed if accuracy is desired. More details about the watch will be described below. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. 35.5mm with the crown included. 6.6mm in height. Full stainless steel in a polished finish. No large/deep scratches and minimal amount of micro scratches and scuffs. Some larger scratches can be seen on the case back. Crown : Original polished Stainless Steel crown branded by Universal Geneve. Works well, and with no cosmetic damage. Dial : Original White dial with Black hands and Black non-numeral hour marks. In very clean condition with a bit of patina and aging of paint around the edges of the dial as seen in the pictures. Crystal : Original domed acrylic crystal. Strap : Generic brown strap with a Silver buckle from Japan Universe. The original 14mm buckle from Universal Geneve will be included as well. Lug to Lug : 37.5mm. Weight : 32g with the strap included. Movement : Fully original Universal Geneve Swiss Made Cal. 2-66 Micro-Rotor Automatic movement with 25 Jewels. No service records on this one. Gorgeous UNIVERSAL GENEVE AERO-COMPAX Vintage CHRONOGRAPH Pilot WATCH 890101/01. Stunning 1968 Universal Geneve Aero-Compax 24-hour, 3-Register chronograph with rotating GMT bezel in superb all original condition direct from the original owner. Full story/bio available upon request. Huge 41mm solid stainless steel case with 22mm lug spacing gives this watch a fantastic presence on the wrist. A superb pilot/aviators chrono in every sense of the word. Here are the details. Case: Massive solid stainless steel case in excellent used, but unpolished condition. Nice bevels still present on the lugs. Measures 41mm in diameter excluding the original “U” signed crown and pushers with silver 24-hour rotating bezel in superb lightly faded condition with good friction on rotation. The back is stamped with the model number 890101/01 and serial number in the 2.5 million range. Inside is also correctly stamped Acier Inoxydable, Swiss, with the Universal Geneve shield logo. Dial: Superb factory original dial with white background, sharp black printed outer 1/5th seconds track, 24-hour markers (hour hand only completes one rotation every 24 hours instead of the usual 12 hours) with 3 registers: constant seconds, minute counter and a 12 hour counter at 6:00. A few very slight marks can be seen on the dial and a very light radium burn is visible at about 8:00 just above the words Aero-Compax (see pictures). Signed Universal Geneve Aero-Compax, Swiss Made T. Original hands are also superb with all black and luminous in place. Movement: High-grade Venus caliber 178 manually wound chronograph movement in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition, fully signed and running well with all chrono functions working as they should.
