ANTIQUE Vintage VICTORIAN Porcelain Beauty LARGE CHINA Low Brow DOLL 1880-1900
A real beauty, Antique Porcelain Doll 11″ Head, Hands & Leather Body Doll 24″tall Satiny Lace Dress. She is 24″ tall and her head circumference is 11″. I have tags that were on her from11/08/90. The hands seem more like a bisque and are not a bright white like her head. Her right elbow has broken open and is losing sawdust. One picture shows this and the other pictures I have wrapped the arm in acid free paper to limit the leakage. The LOWER part of her legs are fabric and seem to be restored. The dress and pantaloons, are also original (I believe). The back of her head has some areas of paint worn off. The left hand fingertips have very small areas of wear. I can send more pictures by request, I have done my best to capture all her parts in the 12 photos allowed. I bought this at an estate sale. Antique 19th C. English Oak Court Cupboard Buffet Sideboard Hutch China Cabinet
English Oak Court Cupboard Buffet Sideboard Hutch China Cabinet. This Renaissance Revival court cupboard was hand-carved from dark oak during the latter half of the 19th century. It is embellished with low-relief cabochons and beveled panels on the upper cabinets and pediment, as well as the lower cupboard. Like all court cupboards, it consists of three pieces and is very similar to a buffet, with short or hidden legs. Up top there is an upper set of cabinets with narrow-paned doors, ornate brass escutcheons, and a central cabinet heavily carved with a romantic pastoral scene. Inside there are adjustable/removable wood shelves the stretch the length of the top section all three cabinet doors open to the same space. Next, there is the gallery with its wide display space and beautifully turned rails. The bottom half is what would be traditionally considered a “buffet” with its square design, short legs and bun facade. The beveled glass in the upper doors is not original and there are several signs of repair done to the piece over time. There have been new hinges on the bottom doors and the escutcheons n the top doors are also not original. The piece measures 93″ high, 55 1/2″ wide, 21 deep, and weighs between 150 -175 lbs. This piece is in good condition for its age. It does show signs of wear to the wood as well as from woodworm for which it has been treated. It has been updates and/or repaired on numerous occasions. Wonderful oak glass cabinet. Probably originally designed to sit on a drop front desk. However, would be ideal to use as a wall cabinet or sit on a shelf. This is an original piece not a later reproduction. It dates from the 1910s to the 1920s. Nice in that it is fairly narrow yet displays well. Glass shelves are adjustable with a dowel / pin system. Wonderful display and storage! It was professionally refinished about 5 to 10 years ago. Some “worm” holes in the wood which shows the age. The wear is normal and appropriate to an item of this age.
