You are looking at a Large Vintage wooden 56 Drawer Card Catalog or tool chest or cupboard. This is from and old school house and it was saved. This is 7 feet tall but casters on a wooden frame have been added to the bottom for rolling and that adds a few inches. It is 4 feet wide and 2 feet in depth. There are 56 drawers. The solid wood drawers measure 21 inches x 4 3/4 inches x 10 1/4 inches. It looks as if there were doors on this at one point due to hinge marks. There is an entire cabinet built around it. There is surface scratching on the sides, and it is probably in perfect condition if the encasing was taken off. I don’t know of course. The whole cabinet is extremely heavy. It took four of us to place this in my garage. There is a couple of areas as shown in the pictures that had termites probably at one time. The cabinet is in sturdy condition. There are brass handles with two missing. The tags are all there that hold labels. It came out of an old high school that was built in 1973 and placed there then. I was told that this was brought to that high school from another high school that was being shut down. My suggestion would be to hire someone to move it. The item is located in Georgetown, Kentucky.
